The IEEE Spectrum has published a 2015 robot gift guide, including the best in drones and robotics. The publication claims to have tested many of the bots themselves and also plans to post in-depth reviews on each item sometime soon. This guide features 17 suggestions for "all ages, interests, and pockets."

The list includes drones robot toys and kits, and home robots to help you find that special gift. It includes new products released in 2015, but also features robots from previous years.

Among the drones listed, the guide starts out with the Parrot AR Drone 2.0 Starter Drone. IEEE Spectrum reports that the drone is unmatched in combination of affordability, usability, and ruggedness.

The Robotis Play 600 is listed in the toys category. This kit includes a bunch of colored plastic parts, which attach to each other with rivets, and one module with a motor that can be used to power wheels and legs (two AA batteries required).

An enhanced Roomba vacuum is also listed.
