Article 700 outlines the requirements for installation, operation and maintenance of emergency systems. As noted in Sec. 700.4(A), "an emergency system shall have adequate capacity and rating for all loads to be operated simultaneously." In addition, the last sentence in Sec. 700.4(B) states: "A portable or temporary alternate source shall be available whenever the emergency generator is out of service for major maintenance or repair."
