Small-Appliance Branch Circuit Requirements

Dwelling unit branch circuit requirements are outlined in Section 210.11(C) of the 2011 NEC.

Two or more _____ small-appliance branch circuits shall be provided to supply power for receptacle outlets in the dwelling unit kitchen, dining room, breakfast room, pantry, or similar dining areas.

Branch circuit requirments are noted in Art. 210 of the 2011 NEC. As noted in Sec. 210.11(C)(1), "In addition to the number of branch circuits required by other parts of this section, two or more 20A small-appliance branch circuits shall be provided for all receptacle outlets specified by 210.52(B)."
