The P-221NV is the latest new construction, single gang, electrical box to join an established line of electrical boxes from Allied Mouled Products, Inc. This new box fills a need in the market for vapor and air sealed electrical boxes. The patent pending tapered flange design creates an airtight seal against the vapor barrier/drywall without the need for additional adhesive. “The P-221NV is an innovation the electrical industry has been waiting for,” said Ron Robinson, National Sales Manager for Residential Products. “This new product kicks off a new line of air-sealed boxes from Allied Moulded that we believe will become the go-to for homeowners and contractors that put energy efficiency as a top priority.”

The end game of this product providing a solution to prevent air infiltration/air leakage on exterior walls where electrical switch and receptacle boxes are required. Its specific design is made up of self-sealing elastomeric which will make it easier a wire into the knockouts easier and keep an airtight seal without the need for caulking and seal back up if the wire is removed. The p-221NV can be a great addition to new construction with a focus on energy efficiency because it meets the new 2021 OS4 standard which sets 2CFM as the maximum allowable air infiltration/leakage. The design and materials used in the P-221NV reduces the air infiltration/leakage to less than .75 CFM.
