ACEC/AGC formalize partnership to enhance project delivery, increase environmental awareness, and reduce delays and disputes in the construction of public/private infrastructure nationwide.
Because interaction between the designing engineer and constructor has always been important for smooth and efficient completion of projects, the American Consulting Engineers Council (ACEC) and Associated General Contractors of America, Inc. (AGC) recently signed a state-level partnering agreement for improved communications. The two associations are pushing for quality in infrastructure legislation and focusing on a stronger mutual commitment to workplace safety. The agreement involves working together to explore, analyze, and implement new technology in the industry, while continuing to promote environmental awareness. ACEC and AGC agree to increase efforts to educate the public regarding the importance of infrastructure and infrastructure funding to our nation. They also plan to strengthen efforts to provide clients with constructed projects that meet their expectations. This new partnership promotes the idea that good faith and fair dealing among all parties to the construction process is the essential foundation for all projects. For more information about the agreement, contact Sally Thompson or Andrea Keeney at ACEC (202) 347-7474 or visit ACEC’s web site at www.acec.org.
