Employment of Contractors Up
Electrical contractor employment for April 2000 stood at 653,900. That was up 1.2% from the month before, and up 8.3% from the same month a year ago. The hourly wage, at $19.82 in March, was up 5.2% from a year ago. The data comes from the U.S. Labor Dept.’s Bureau of Labor Statistics.
