The potential total capacity of geothermal power plants in the United States, once all projects currently under development are completed in the next three to six years. The current capacity is 2,828.25MW. Additional projects totaling 600MW of capacity are currently in the exploratory stage, including the potential for more than 100MW at Makushin Volcano in Alaska.
