The National Telecom Alliance (NTA), Houston, recently announced the completion of its Founding Membership drive at its National Summit in Las Vegas. Twenty-five people attended, representing 18 founding member companies.

The attendees learned of NTA's initiatives for the next several years, which include the national accounts program (the ASAP program), designed to harness the organization's nationwide installation capabilities; the group purchasing program, designed to pursue proprietary programs with manufacturers and distributors of telecommunications and electrical systems and supplies; the sales-driven organization program (the SMART program), designed to improve members' ability to differentiate themselves in today's market; and the proprietary Internet-based estimating/purchasing/project management system, intended to allow NTA members to act as a cohesive whole when servicing customers.

Members also established member oversight committees for NTA's initiatives.

Bob Eskew, NTA member and owner of ASD/1-800 cabling, Roswell, Ga., will serve as president of NTA's contracting services group, National Telecom Services (NTS). Eskew will manage shared accounts work through NTA's member network and its affiliate network of more than 250 companies.
