Skystream turbine eligible for state rebate program

Flagstaff, Ariz.-based Southwest Windpower’s Skystream 3.7 backyard wind turbine is now eligible for the California Energy Commission's (CEC) renewable energy rebate program. Under the program, California homeowners who install a Skystream, rated at 1.8kW, are eligible for a rebate from the state of California for approximately $4,100.

The Skystream, developed in collaboration with the U.S. Dept. of Energy's National Renewable Energy Lab, is the first backyard-sized wind turbine to include a built-in inverter, requiring no external components.
