Trimble, Nidec Corp., Ideal Industries, Inc.

Trimble

Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Trimble has acquired the assets of privately held Accubid Systems, Concord, Canada. The acquisition of Accubid broadens Trimble’s industry leading BIM-to-field solutions for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) contractors to automate project estimating and management, modeling, detailing, layout, and construction.

Nidec Corp.

Tokyo-based Nidec Corp. recently announced that its board of directors resolved to acquire the Motors & Controls business of Emerson Electric Co., St. Louis, and entered into an asset and stock purchase agreement with Emerson. In addition to existing small precision motors used mainly in IT devices, Nidec Corp. has been working to expand its business in automobile, industrial, and home appliance motors, using its core technology in brushless DC motors.

Ideal Industries, Inc.

Sycamore, Ill.-based Ideal Industries, Inc. has entered into a definitive agreement to purchase certain assets of SK Hand Tools Corp. Doug Spitler, VP and general manager of Ideal's Retail and Industrial divisions, has been named to run the new company which will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Ideal.
