Generac Holdings, Active Power, Madison Electric Products

Generac Holdings, Inc.

Waukesha, Wis.-based Generac Holdings, Inc., parent company of Generac Power Systems, Inc., has priced its initial public offering of 18,750,000 shares of its common stock at $13.00 per share. The shares began trading on The New York Stock Exchange on February 11 under the ticker symbol GNRC.

Active Power, Inc.

Austin, Texas-based critical backup power systems manufacturer Active Power, Inc. announced results for its fourth quarter and fiscal year ended Dec. 31. Revenue for the fourth quarter increased 64% from the previous quarter to $14 million, and decreased 14% from the fourth quarter of 2008. Revenue for the full year was $40.3 million, a decrease of 6% from $43.0 million in 2008.

Madison Electric Products, Inc.

Bedford Heights, Ohio-based Madison Electric Products, Inc., has forged an agreement with Cleveland-based Time Saver Products, Inc. to launch the full product line of Clip-it electrical cable supports, invented by Time Saver's founder, Doug Hill. The new relationship with Time Saver Products, Inc. is part of Madison Electric Products' strategy of partnering with electrician/inventors to bring innovative field-tested and field-created products to market.

Power Paper

Tel Aviv, Israel-based Power Paper and GE Global Research have signed an agreement to jointly develop self-powered OLED lighting devices. Using low-cost, high-volume manufacturing processes, these devices could be deployed in a wide variety of environments from military ships to night-time jogging vests.

Areva

Paris-based Areva, has just taken its first step into the solar market with the acquisition of Mountain View, Calif.-based Ausra. Combining Ausra's proven technology and Areva's engineering, procurement, and construction skills, the group is committed to building the most cost-effective concentrated solar panel plants for utilities, independent power producers, and industrial customers around the world.
