- A groundbreaking ceremony was recently held for a new, 40,000-square-foot Class A office building in Covington, La. The building will serve as a main branch location for Baton Rouge, La.-based Wink Companies, the engineering, architecture, surveying, and construction management company, which also has offices in New Orleans; St. Charles Parish, La.; Lafayette, La.; and Biloxi, Miss.
- Exeter, Penn.-based Friedman Electric, a subsidiary of Sonepar USA, recently acquired Robson Electric Supply, a single-branch electrical distributor with a separate lighting showroom and a combined square footage of 20,000 square feet., located in Johnson City, N.Y. Robson Electric Supply primarily serves the commercial, education, and institutional markets in the southern tier of New York State.
- Norwalk, Conn.-based EMCOR Group recently announced that it’s Dynalectric subsidiary in Los Angeles was awarded a contract to upgrade and install the electrical systems for the Port of Long Beach Pier G East Terminal in Long Beach, Calif. Dynalectric’s scope of work spans 828,000 square feet of the Pier G facility and will consist of furnishing and installing a two-mile duct bank with associated power conductors. The high-mast lighting system will be upgraded with Halophane Dark Sky light fixtures that reduce light pollution and are 13% more energy-efficient than the previous generation.
