Columbus, Ohio-based Emerson Network Power reports that Frost & Sullivan has conferred on its ASCO Power Technologies business the 2009 North American Transfer Switch Company of the Year award.
Frost & Sullivan, the global research and consulting services firm, singled out the ASCO business for its pioneering power transfer technology that serves as the industry's benchmark. ASCO Power Technologies is a global leader in developing custom-engineered power transfer solutions for prime, emergency, legally required standby, and optional power systems, Frost & Sullivan said. ASCO provides customers with a well-balanced package of world-class technology, support, and field service.
This is the third consecutive time that Frost & Sullivan has honored ASCO Power Technologies. The company also took Frost & Sullivan honors in 2003 and 2005 for Best Practices.
We're very excited and proud to be recognized with such a significant award," says Armand Visioli, president of the ASCO business of Emerson Network Power.
To determine the leading company in the power transfer switch market, a team at Frost & Sullivan spent hundreds of hours interviewing end-users, reviewing transfer switch performance results, and speaking with industry engineers. The process included in-depth discussions on issues driving and restraining the total market, revenue forecasting, market and technology trends, distribution channel analysis, and a thorough competitive analysis. Challenges facing the total transfer switch market and strategies that can help overcome these issues also were discussed.
" Being identified for an award of this magnitude is an honor, " says Bhavesh Patel, director of marketing for the ASCO business of Emerson Network Power. " It's a testament to the dedication and professionalism of each member of the ASCO team. "
