GE completes acquisition of electronic security systems provider

GE Industrial Systems, Plainville, Conn., recently announced its acquisition of International Fiber Systems, Inc. (IFS), a Newton, Conn.-based manufacturer of digital fiber optic transmission products and systems for electronic security and intelligent transportation systems. GE Industrial Systems, Plainville, Conn., recently announced its acquisition of International Fiber Systems, Inc. (IFS), a Newton, Conn.-based manufacturer of digital fiber optic transmission products and systems for electronic security and intelligent transportation systems.

IFS will become a subsidiary of GE Interlogix, a part of GE Industrial Systems, also based in Plainville, Conn. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

IFS manufacturers products for traffic signaling networks, variable message/changeable message signs and electronic toll collection systems.
