The Independent Electrical Contractors Rocky Mountain (IECRM) recently hosted an inaugural open house for prospective students and prospective trade association members. The event was held November 27 at the IECRM campus and trade association headquarters, in Denver.
Many promising new apprentices and independent electrical contractors attended the event. Visitors were given tours of the classrooms and meeting spaces, met instructors and staff, learned about educational programs and financial assistance opportunities, and learned about the benefits of becoming a member, partner, or affiliate of the trade association.Contractor attendees included Carlton Electric, Denver, and P&L Electric, Littleton, Colo.
Several current IECRM students and trade association members also attended the event, and assisted visitors in getting acquainted with IECRM’s mission and values in the electrical and energy industries. IECRM would like to thank all current members and partners who took time to help make this event a success. Member and partner attendees included:
- Bauerle and Co., Denver
- LED Source, Centennial, Colo.
- Lightscape Electric, Boulder, Colo.
- Vectra Bank, Denver
Prospective instructors — licensed independent electricians and educational professionals — were also invited to the event. IECRM has several employment opportunities still open for 2013, and all interested and eligible individuals are encouraged to apply.
The special guest of the open house was Thomas & Betts. At the event, Thomas & Betts presented its generous donation of an electrical product display board, to be used as a teaching tool by IECRM’s electrical apprenticeship program instructors. Following the presentation, IECRM announced Thomas & Betts’ advancement from a Gold Partner to a Platinum Level Industry Partner within the trade association. Platinum Level is currently the highest level of partnership within IECRM.
