M.C. Dean, Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Craig Watkins as director of western operations for the company’s new office in Huntington Beach, Calif. As director of western operations, Watkins will manage all aspects of initial and sustained growth, focusing on the development and capture of design-build projects.
Craig has extensive experience in creating, managing, and growing companies in the design-build and construction markets, having been in the field for over 30 years. He was formerly senior VP of construction companies at the California-based Meruelo Group, where he provided operations direction and oversight for all five construction companies. Under his leadership Meruelo Construction saw 30% overall growth.
Watkins is certified by Design Build Institute of America (DBIA) and treasurer of its Western Pacific chapter. He will be leading the M.C. Dean team at the DBIA National Conference in New Orleans this November, where M.C. Dean is the Platinum Sponsor.
Watkins is a recognized expert in using design-build to achieve best value while meeting schedule, cost, and quality goals. M.C. Dean is looking forward to establishing a solid presence on the West Coast under his leadership.
