IBEW Local Union No. 124 and the Kansas City Chapter of NECA, known together in Kansas City as the Power Partners, recently announced an alignment with SkillsUSA to provide electrical installation for the convention facilities as well as participate in national judging for their 2009 National Leadership and Skills Conference.
Hosting the top career and technical education students in the country as they compete for the national title in their contest trade area, the SkillsUSA Championships will take place June 23-25 (open to the public June 24-25) at Municipal Auditorium, the Kemper Arena, H. Roe Bartle Hall, the downtown Marriott, and the Crowne Plaza Hotel Downtown. In addition to helping judge the industrial motor control, residential wiring, and TeamWorks contests, Power Partners will also be providing educational opportunities to graduates who list their participation in SkillsUSA on their résumé or application, by granting interviews to qualified applicants for their apprenticeship program.
