One of Michigan's newest and largest transmission companies, the Michigan Electric Transmission Company (METC, LLC) is seeking qualified and experienced people to fill the following position.
This position will provide necessary support to the department manager and work closely with other engineers within the department to perform analyses and studies related to Transmission network planning and expansion, develop recommendations for optimum transmission facilities, perform reliability evaluations and studies of powerflow, short-circuit, and stability. In addition, the senior engineer will prepare economic analyses and justification, participate in regional coordination of transmission plans and studies, perform ATC calculations, IPP interconnection studies, and Transmission Service Requests. Individual must have a BS degree in Electrical Engineering with at least five years of transmission planning and/or operations experience, and a good understanding of the principles and methods of power system analyses, as well as, familiarity with engineering economics analyses. Knowledge, familiarity and ability to use transmission planning and analyses software widely applied within the electric utility industry is essential. Active Professional Engineering registration and license is desired.
