SPG Solar Completes the Largest Cinema Rooftop Solar Installation

SPG Solar, Novato, Calif., recently completed the largest solar system on a movie theater in America.

SPG Solar, Novato, Calif., recently completed the largest solar system on a movie theater in America. Livermore Cinemas, Livermore, Calif., now has a fully operational 132kW rooftop system which produces 190,000kWh per year to help power the all-digital multiplex cinema.

The SPG Solar system offsets 45% of the facility's electric use and uses 805 solar modules, containing more than 21 miles of tubular solar cells.
