One of Michigan's newest and largest transmission companies, the Michigan Electric Transmission Company (METC, LLC) is seeking qualified and experienced people to fill the following position.
Individual will work closely with other engineers within the department performing analyses and studies related to Transmission network planning and expansion, develop recommendations for optimum transmission facilities, evaluate reliability, powerflow, short-circuit and stability studies. This position will also prepare economic analyses and justification, participate in regional coordination of transmission plans and studies, perform ATC calculations, IPP interconnection studies, and Transmission Service Requests. Qualifications for this position include BS degree in Electrical Engineering with some experience in transmission planning and/or operations experience, a well-grounded understanding of the principles and methods of power system analyses, as well as, familiarity with engineering economics analyses. Knowledge, familiarity and ability to use transmission planning and analyses software widely applied within the electric utility industry is a plus. Professional engineering registration would be a plus.
