BBS Architects and Engineers acquires Ward Associates to become  BBS Architects, Landscape Architects and Engineers, PC

BBS Architects & Engineers, P.C., a leading designer of institutional, educational, and commercial facilities in the Northeast, acquired the professional team and practice of Ward Associates, P.C., a Bohemia, N.Y.-headquartered engineering, master planning, architecture, landscape architecture, sports facilities design and surveying firm active in the Greater New York area and throughout New York. Roger P. Smith, AIA, LEED AP, will lead the expanded design firm as president, principal, and lead architect. The merged companies will operate under the new name of BBS Architects, Landscape Architects and Engineers, PC. The company will be headquartered at BBS' office in Patchogue, N.Y., and offer full scope of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and civil engineering, as well as architecturalservices to clients in the Northeast and nationwide.

"The addition of the Ward Associates team to BBS's practice brings together the talents and extensive expertise of two highly distinguished and service-driven design firms. Following the acquisition, BBS manages on-going projects valued at approximately $220 million and offers a complete range of engineering and architectural services to educational, institutional and governmental clients," said Roger P. Smith, AIA, LEED AP, BBS principal and lead architect. "The complementary expertise and client base made Ward a perfect acquisition partner in order to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the Long Island, New York City, Westchester, and other markets in the Northeast."

Following the expansion, BBS' personnel include more than 50 MEP and civil engineers, architects, planners, interior designers, landscape architects, lighting designers, project managers, and support staff.
