Electrician Suffers Burns While Working at Business Park

An electrician sustained severe electrical burns from a junction box at a building at a Business Park in Staten Island, N.Y. The 30-year-old worker is in critical but stable condition at the burn unit at Staten Island University Hospital.

According to Staten Island Live, Jude Garcia, who works for the Control Electrical Contracting Corp., suffered up to third-degree burns, with his left arm and left eye most affected.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is investigating the incident, according to an agency spokeswoman. The incident is also being investigated by the Port Authority Police Accident Investigation Team, Pentangelo said.
