Rosslyn, Va.-based National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) standard for motors and generators has recently received approval from the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

ANSI MG 1-2009 (R2010), "Motors and Generators," conveys practical information concerning performance, safety, test, construction and manufacture of ac and dc motors and generators. This standard assists users in the proper selection and application of motors and generators.
