Brightfield Project Background & Next Steps

Through a grant provided by the Massachusetts Renewable Energy Trust Fund (MRET), the City of Brockton, the Brockton 21st Century Corporation, Bay State Gas, Spire Corporation, and XENERGY have formed the Brockton Green Power Team to determine the feasibility of and prepare a plan for developing a 1 MW solar energy project or Brightfield in Brockton. Both feasibility studies identify and address the challenges, opportunities, and options for developing a technically and financially viable Brightfield Project in Brockton.

The next steps will involve preliminary partnership development, marketing and financing research, and engineering design work, as well as preparing grant proposals for additional financial support.
