NRC, FERC Commissioners to Discuss Grid Reliability, Reactor Issue

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) will hold a joint meeting Wednesday, May 28, at NRC headquarters in Rockville, Md.

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) will hold a joint meeting Wednesday, May 28, at NRC headquarters in Rockville, Md.

The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. and end at approximately 10:30 a.m., followed by a closed meeting. The meeting will be in the Commission Conference Room in One White Flint North, 11555 Rockville Pike in Rockville. Staff members from both agencies and the North American Electric Reliability Corporation will brief NRC and FERC Commissioners on topics including grid reliability, nuclear power plant license renewals and dam safety.

The 2014 State of the Reliability Report and extended loss of all AC power mitigation strategies will be discussed.

The NRC is providing a webcast of the joint meeting. Those attending in person should plan to arrive at the NRC at least a half hour in advance of the meeting. The NRC offices are located across the street from the White Flint Metro station. Parking is available at the White Flint metro parking garage on Marinelli Road
