PlugCalc is an online tool that allows users to calculate energy savings opportunities and return on investment (ROI) by automatically controlling plugged in office equipment and other plug loads. Featuring fill-in fields and drop-down menus, the calculator identifies power usage of each plug load by enabling users to accept the built-in default power rating published by Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory or select the setting by activating the slider. In addition, users can compute potential energy savings of up to eight different plug loads by selecting them from a pull down menu of typical office equipment. Customized lists can also be created. Calculations can be printed out or emailed directly from the webpage. An iPad version provides the same functionality via touch pad.
