Article 610 of the 2017 NEC focuses on cranes and hoists. Part VII of this Article covers grounding requirements. As outlined in Sec. 610.61, “When bonding metal moving parts of cranes, monorail hoists, hoists, and accessories, including pendant controls, these moving parts (other than removable accessories, or attachments that have metal-to-metal bearing surfaces) shall be considered to be electrically bonded to each other through bearing surfaces for grounding purposes.”
