Find the Answer

Answer:

I discovered this violation after filling up my vehicle at a gas station in Cambridge, Mass. As noted in 514.4 of the 2005 NEC, “All electrical equipment and wiring installed in Class I locations as classified in 514.3 shall comply with the applicable provisions of Article 501.” The approved wiring methods for a Class I, Division 1 location are noted in section 501.10. Another reference worth noting is 514.7, which sets forth the requirements for wiring and equipment located above Class I locations.
