Burns & McDonnell Opens Office in Orlando Area to Support Expansion Plans in Florida

Burns & McDonnell is poised for expansion in Florida with the opening of its first major office in the Orlando area. The move will create new jobs for the area with plans to triple the size of the office within the next year.

In addition to a strong focus on electrical transmission and distribution, Burns & McDonnell Orlando will quickly grow into a multi-discipline office providing a full-suite of services from power generation, transportation and water to environmental, aviation and federal.

With more than 35 offices in the United States and across the globe, this Burns & McDonnell's newest office will be located at 495 N. Keller Road, Suite 155, in Maitland, Fla. Despite the new address, the 117 year-old firm has been designing and building projects that have fueled Florida's success for decades, such as:

  • Architectural, engineering, procurement and construction services to Gainesville Regional Utilities for an energy center for the Shands Healthcare Cancer Hospital Campus.
  • Design and construction services for the Joint Intelligence Center, Central Command to provide highly specialized space for classified intelligence data at MacDill Air Force Base.
  • Design and build services for the Joint Strike Fighter Integrated Training Center at Eglin Air Force Base.
  • Ecosystem restoration effort with The Everglades Construction Project to improve the quality of surface water runoff to historic conditions. This project was awarded the ACEC Grand Conceptor Award.

Within the last year, Burns & McDonnell experienced its largest growth to date hiring its 5,000th employee and achieving $2.5 billion in sales.
