IEEE releases updates to battery storage standards

May 13, 2002
The IEEE standards board recently approved a revised version of IEEE Standard 1187, Recommended Practice for Installation Design and Installation of Valve-Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) Storage Batteries for Stationary Applications, reflecting new knowledge about such batteries. The changes have made the standard consistent with other similar recommended practices. IEEE 1187-2002 included recommended

IEEE 1187-2002 included recommended design practices and procedures for the storage, location, mounting, ventilation, instrumentation, preassembly, assembly, and charging of VRLA batteries in stationary use.
