Kaiser Electric has been hired to design-build the electrical system and lighting in a new 33,000-sq-ft Mungenast Hyundai dealership under construction in Hazelwood, Mo. Construction on the new $7 million dealership began in August and is expected to be completed in March 2012. Two years ago, Kaiser Electric designed and built the electrical system for the 70,000-sq-ft Dave Mungenast Lexus of St. Louis, one of the country’s first registered LEED Silver Lexus dealerships.

The new Mungenast Hyundai dealership will feature 16 service bays in the service department, a car wash, three detailing bays, and a single-story showroom and office area. Kaiser Electric crews will design/build the facility’s lighting, wiring, and security/fire systems, which will include a lighting control panel, occupancy sensor lighting and use of 750W pulse-start lighting fixtures in the parking lot to conserve energy.

The architect on the project is HDA Architects, St. Louis, and the general contractor is Holland Construction, Swansea, Ill.
