IEC Announces Safety Awards

Oct. 23, 2013
IEC places workplace safety as one of its core values and encourages members to have the safest work environment possible.

The IEC-CNA Safety Awards recognize electrical contracting companies that excel in establishing and maintaining safety programs that result in incident rates that are significantly below the average OSHA recordable incident rate. The judges look for commitment to safety from management, employee involvement, active participation, and controls over major exposure to loss.

The 2013 IEC-CNA Safety Awards were presented at the 56th Annual IEC National Convention & Electric Expo to the following companies:

Bret's Electric, LLC
Frederick, Colorado
(1 to 15 employees)

LeMay Electric, Inc.
Marietta, Georgia
(16-50 employees)

F.B. Harding, Inc.
Rockville, Maryland
(51-125 employees)

AMF Electrical Contractors, Inc.
St. Louis, Missouri
(126-300 employees)

IES Commercial
Houston, Texas
(301 plus employees)

IEC SPARK Recognition

The SPARK kit is a successful method to help members evaluate their safety program. This "Safety Check-Up," is not a competition, but those contractors who have Grand Achievement, Superior Achievement, or SPARK Achievement will receive national recognition and a SPARK Certificate. During the IEC National Convention, the Chapter with the largest amount of contractor members with SPARK recognition will receive a special award.
