As specifically outlined in Sec. 410.59 of the 2017 NEC, “Individual showcases, other than fixed, shall be permitted to be connected by flexible cord to permanently installed receptacles, and groups of not more than six such showcases shall be permitted to be coupled together by flexible cord and separable locking-type connectors with one of the group connected by flexible cord to a permanently installed receptacle.”

In addition, the installation shall also comply with 410.59(A) through (E).
