Section 480 of the 2017 NEC focuses on storage batteries.

As specifically outlined in 480.10(G), “The location of luminaires in storage battery locations shall not (1) expose personnel to energized battery components while performing maintenance on the luminaires in the battery space or (2) create a hazard to the battery upon failure of the luminaire.”
