The electrician told a supervisor that planes would attack the plant and release hazardous chemicals.

An electrical contractor was arrested last month for threatening GlobalFoundries, a chip fabrication plant in Maryland. The electrician told a supervisor that planes would attack the plant and release hazardous chemicals unless he received five years of salary and health benefits in the event he was laid off.

The Times Union reported that Virgil McDonald, who worked as an electrician through a private contractor at GlobalFoundries, was arrested by the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation and charged with second-degree falsely reporting an incident and first-degree coercion.
