An electrical company is suing Shell Chemical Co. for breach of contract. Electrical Consultants provides training programs and had contracted with Shell to provide seminars to teach safety at one of Shell's Louisiana facilities. The contract said programs had to be canceled at least 30 days in advance for the almost $12,000 charge to be wavied, according to a report in the Louisiana Record.
Electrical Consultants claims that Shell suspended the training program the day before it was scheduled, The Louisiana Record reported that the notice was given so late that its teacher, who lives in Rochester, N.Y., was already on his way to teach the classes when they were cancelled.
The plaintiffs also claim another training session that was to take place on Aug. 11 at a cost of $39,075 was also canceled, but not within the 30-day time period as required for a waiver of the fee.
