Sarasota, Fla.-based Clockwork Home Services recently announced franchise growth for the second quarter of 2008 within its portfolio of nationally branded home services companies. During the period from April through June 2008, Clockwork added 21 new plumbing, air conditioning and heating, and electrical franchises.

Through one of its wholly owned subsidiaries, New York-based Lighting Science Group has acquired all of the assets of Lamina Lighting, Westampton, N.J. Year-to-date revenues for the first six months of 2008 for Lamina were approximately $2.1 million.

Mesa, Ariz.-based Maxis, the developer of cable pulling and hole-making tools for electricians, recently acquired Elder Designs, Arapaho, Okla., the maker of the wire and service cart line Wire Wagon. “We found that Wire Wagon was by far the best line of wire carts available and we knew we had to have it,” says James Jarvis, president of Maxis.
