New product spotlight on boxes and enclosures for electrical contractors, electrical engineers, and plant facility personnel


The MC Series of steel outlet boxes is now UL-certified and approved for use with metal-clad interlocked armor cable, including MCAP. The boxes are available as 4S (4 in.2) and 5S (4 11/16 in.2,). Boxes are constructed from galvanized steel and feature common knockout configurations. Additional features include an adjustable metal stud bracket, which ensures proper placement and support for studs up to 6 in. deep; a green 10-in. pigtail (12 AWG) with a 10-32 ground screw and; and an optional AB bracket.

PDU enclosure

The 42U SmartRack Wide PDU enclosure measures 29.5-in. wide compared to the industry-standard 23.6-in. width. Featuring a 3,000-lb stationary/2,250-lb rolling load capacity, the enclosure's front and rear sets of equipment mounting rails adjust in ¼-in. increments. Additional product features include locking, removable, and reversible front and rear doors; locking, removable side panels keyed alike with doors; preinstalled casters and leveling feet; four interior vertical posts with unthreaded square openings; and a textured powder-coat finish.

Electrical boxes

The Smart Box electrical work box product line includes multi-mount 2-gang to 6-gang models, low-voltage models, and a light and fan fixture model. UL-approved, the nonmetallic boxes are designed for use in retrofit and new construction. In addition, the products are depth-adjustable, because they mount internally with screws to either wood or 25-gauge metal stud framing.

The ZDMB6B fiber-optic zone distribution enclosure is designed for locations where space is limited. Suitable for indoor wall-mount applications, the enclosure accepts all of the company's fiber-optic adapter plates and provides splicing options for up to 12 fibers. In addition, the NEMA Type 3-compliant device can be installed in low-profile areas with less than a 2-in. clearance for either splicing or patching applications. Available in customized configurations, the product is MTP compatible for zone applications and accepts one OCC fiber-optic adapter plate. It also includes fiber management clips for cable identification and management and is lockable for secure access.
