Ferraz Shawmut

Newburyport, Mass.-based Ferraz Shawmut has changed its name to Mersen. "The name change reflects our history and, more importantly, our strategic direction," says Daniel Beaudron, VP and general manager for Mersen USA.

Northside Truland

Richmond, Va.-based Northside Truland recently announced the commencement of operations for the electrical contracting firm formed from the acquisition of Northside Electric Co. and Premier Electric by Truland Service Corp. The firm is being led by VPs Jeff Thornsbury, formerly of Truland Service Corp. and Chuck Guedri, formerly of Northside Electric.

GE Lighting

GE Lighting and Rambus have signed a broad licensing agreement for the use of Rambus' patented lighting innovations, including its product reference designs and manufacturing process know-how. The initial focus will be to create a flat-panel LED lighting system for architectural and commercial lighting for global markets.
