  • Sycamore, Ill.-based Ideal Industries recently launched its “The Race is On” spring promotion. Electricians who purchase 20,000 Ideal or Buchanan connectors from participating electrical distributors will receive a portable Keg-A-Que propane grill. Those purchasing 10,000 connectors will receive a three-gallon keg cooler proudly displaying the Ideal logo. Contractors who buy 5,000 connectors will receive Ideal baseball caps with a unique built-in bottle opener along with an Ideal pocket T-Shirt.
  • Fenton, Mo.-based Kaiser Electric recently was named the electrical contractor/engineer on the new 62,000-square-foot Park East Lofts development in St. Louis City’s Central West End neighborhood. Kaiser Electric is providing wiring for the lighting, voice/data, fire alarm, security, cable television, and power systems within the condominiums, retail space, and parking garage. Construction on the estimated $24 million development began in June 2007 and is expected to be completed in October 2008.
  • Atlanta-based WEG Electric Motors, supplier of motors, drives, and transformers, recently launched a program for ordering custom designed AC induction motors for a wide range of horsepower, voltage, and speed ratings. Customization can include special shafts, special sealing or ventilation, and special insulation requirements, allowing an industrial user to exactly replace a motor used in an existing machine or facility.
