Electrical Inspector Testifies in KBR Bonus Hearing

In a hearing of the Senate Democratic Policy Committee (DCP) held yesterday, Jim Childs, a master electrician hired by the Army to help review U.S.-run facilities in Iraq, testified that 90% of the wiring installed by KBR, Houston, in newly constructed buildings in Iraq was not done properly. "When I began inspecting the electrical work performed by KBR, my co-workers and I found improper electrical work in every building we inspected," Childs testified.

The Department of Defense paid KBR more than $80 million in bonuses for contracts to install electrical wiring in Iraq. The hearing was held to investigate these bonuses. For more information and to view the hearing, visit the DCP Web site.
