2020 NEC to be effective as of Nov. 1, 2020

According to a recent Code Alert from the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA), the State of Washington, Department of Labor and Industry, recently completed its technical and administrative reviews of the 2020 NEC, which was adopted with minimal amendments and will become effective on Oct. 29, 2020.

The final public hearing of the 2020 NEC adoption took place virtually on April 9, and it was originally set to become effective on July 1, 2020. Due to COVID-19, the governor extended the effective dates of all new rule making by four months, extending its effective date to November 1.
