Newark Honors Electrician for Service

The Newark, Maryland, city mayor Polly Sierer has honored a city electrician for 40 years of service. James Frazer started working for the city's electric department in 1974 and will retire on March 31.

The Newark Post reported that Frazer maintained and installed electric, telephone and computer wiring in all city facilities, maintained all the public works and water resources department pumping stations and treatment facilities and the parks and recreation department facilities lighting systems.

Frazer also helped construct four substation sites and install 13 substation transformers and the city SCADA system, and maintained all substation transformers and circuit breakers. He also wired and installed meters and was instrumental in putting in phone and computer wiring when the police station was built, according to the report from the Newark Post.
