NECA/NEMA 105-2002, Recommended Practice for Installing Metal Cable Trays (ANSI) has been issued by the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA). It is one of a series of National Electrical Installation Standards (NEIS) published by NECA, and the first to be produced in partnership with the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA).
The new industry standard describes installation and maintenance procedures for metal cable tray systems used to support power and communications cabling. It was developed by NEMA's Cable Tray Section and published by NECA. NECA/NEMA 105-2002 is the seventeenth publication in the NEIS series, and the ninth to be jointly produced with another industry expert group.
"NECA is very happy to have NEMA working with us on National Electrical Installation Standards," said Dan Walter, NECA's vice president of operations and COO. "This activity enhances the long-standing relationship between our two major electrical industry associations. This new cable tray standard, as well as all of the NEIS published, benefit customers and the public by providing the means to achieve the most efficient and safest installation possible."
NEMA Vice President of Communications Rae Hamilton said, "NEMA is pleased to have collaborated with NECA on this project. The expanded distribution of this document made possible by its inclusion in the NEIS series is welcome. This was an opportunity to contribute to the public safety by partnering with our long-time ally."
