Transformers and capacitors installed in Class I, Division 1 locations shall comply with the requirements outlined in Section 500.100 of the NEC. As noted in 500.100(A)(2), "Transformers and capacitors that do not contain a liquid that will burn shall be installed in vaults complying with 501.100(A)(1) or be identified for Class I locations."
