Leviton, Helix, DCO

Little Neck, N.Y.-based Leviton Manufacturing Co. recently entered into an agreement to acquire ControlThink, Orem, Utah, a home and building control software and services company. As a Leviton company, ControlThink will develop new products that offer interoperability with products from allied industry partners.

San Diego-based Helix Electric has been awarded the contract on a design-build electrical subcontracting project for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department North Central Area Command. The station will be a two-story building complex with a building area of 26,729 square feet and a parking garage that measures 119,007 square feet.

Day-Brite Capri Omega (DCO) recently opened the world’s first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Certified Lighting Institute (LEED-CI) designed to educate visitors about the importance of good lighting and highlight the importance of energy conservation. The 5,000-square-foot DCO Lighting Institute, located within the company’s plant in Tupelo, Miss., will feature products and techniques that represent the best lighting practices, balancing functionality, controllability, and energy consumption in accordance with IESNA/ASHRAE guidelines.
