The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 164, Paramus, N.J., recently celebrated its 106th anniversary. Established in 1901 to serve electricians in Hudson County, N.J., the Local has grown to include more than 3,900 electricians active throughout a tri-county region and telecommunications contracted throughout the state.

"We remain deeply committed to Local 164's original objective, which is to help make life better for our members and those around them," says Richard Dressel, business manager. "Our focus remains steadfast to promote reasonable work methods and safe jobsites, as well as elevating the moral, intellectual and social conditions in the interest of a higher standard of citizenship."
