Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Bloom Energy recently announced the Bloom Energy Server, a power-plant-in-a-box for large enterprises. Bloom touted its fuel-cell technology as a cheap, reliable source of electricity, with a much more stable source of electricity than solar, wind, or geothermal power.
Kyocera Solar, Inc.
Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Kyocera Solar, Inc. recently announced plans to begin manufacturing solar modules in San Diego, to serve the U.S. market's growing demand for clean energy. The U.S. module manufacturing will support a new milestone for Kyocera's solar energy business — global production capacity targeting 1,000MW of solar cells per year by March 2013.
Solyndra, Inc.
Fremont, Calif.-based Solyndra, Inc., a manufacturer of innovative cylindrical photovoltaic (PV) systems for commercial rooftops, recently signed a new North America distribution agreement with DC Power Systems, Rohnert Park, Calif.-based full-service distributor of renewable energy products. "DC Power Systems has an outstanding reputation in renewable energy and they offer their customers a wide range of technology and service capabilities," says Chris Gronet, Solyndra CEO and founder. "They clearly are the type of innovative, value-added distributor that we seek when authorizing a company to offer Solyndra products."
