To help users with managed Ethernet technology, Contemporary Controls recently published “The ABC’s of Managed Switches,” a one-page guide that explains the terminology and concept of managed switches. The guide also describes how to separate or combine multiple networks in your facility without swapping a cable; the advantages of switch management and what you can monitor, control, and predict; and concepts like trunking, quality of service, and fault isolation.

The guide is free and available at www.ctrlink.com/abc.htm.
