Agreement offers upgrade package for energy efficient homes

GE and Masco Contractor Services (MCS), Daytona Beach, Fla., recently estabilshed a new program to help homebuilders and residential developers create homes that are energy efficient, conserve water, and use renewable power. The program integrates GE products, including Energy Star appliances, with principles of building science in an upgrade package.

The collaboration also expands the benefits available under Environments for Living, a program developed by MCS that consolidiates techniques of appliced building science and provides tiered levels of certification for energy efficiency for heating and cooling homes.
